KREONET, a world class national science and technology research network and GLORIAD, a global science and technology collaborative research network, provide a state-ofthe- art global collaborative research environment that enables researchers to engage in a variety of application researches, including ting-edge medical science and cultural convergence. The network also facilitates research into basic domains, including high energy physics, astronomy space, climate and weather, bio dielectric material and supercomputing by providing high performance, top quality research network resources and services, pushing the boundaries of ting-edge science and research further and maximizing research efficiency.

EDucation-research Integration through Simulation On the Net(EDISON)

The EDISON project is an ongoing project for supporting on-line based simulation development of computational science. EDISON means “EDucation-research Integration through Simulation On the Net”. Through the EDISON web portal service, anyone can learn and understand the theory or system by implementing the simulation programs anywhere and can predict operations of the system by easily changing parameters of the simulation model. It has ed from July 2011 by KISTI and funded by Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning(MSIP), currently covers 5 areas such as Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD), Nano Physics, Computational Chemistry. Computational Structural Dynamics(CSD) and Computer Aided Optimal Design. The EDISON project has also participated by major universities in Korea

Massive application data visualization technology development for scientific big data

We are developing technologies and tools to visualize big data in real time to analyze large data obtained from supercomputing and measurement instruments such as satellite images and medical images in a timely and accurate manner. In addition, development results are applied to various industries; we are especially focused on virtual design that allows designers to virtually design an aircraft or a ship through simulation.
