KISTI (Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information) signed a memorandum of understanding with TIPA (Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs). The conclusion of MOU took place at KISTI's head office on Feb. 19th, 2014. This MOU is intended to provide active support for SMEs' R&D planning and technical development.

The agreement is to strengthen the public support system for SMEs' R&D planning. SMEs face hardships when planning R&D, for the lack of human resources and material resources. Such hardships prevent SMEs from constructing the very foundation of possible business opportunities, and therefore KISTI and TIPA plan to establish an organic cooperation to revel out difficulties SMEs face. Both parties will also be involved in nurturing future R&D specialists.

Dr. Park Young Seo, President of KISTI, noted: "We plan to arrange better opportunities for SMEs with R&D difficulties through the agreement." President of TIPA also expected this MOU to produce synergy for both parties' aid on SMEs."
