Joint Research with SNU Bundang Hospital on Quantum Cryptography Telecommunication

- Solving big-data privacy breach with high-tech cryptography technology  -

KISTI has concluded MOU with Seoul National University(SNU) Bundang Hospital for joint research on quantum cryptography and homomorphic encryption for remote process of medical information at SNU Bundang Hospital on November 28th, 2019.

KISTI promised the medical center to provide its supercomputer infrastructure and the national S&T research network, KREONET, for big-data research and AI model development using medical information.

SNU Bundang Hospital codes its medical information using homomorphic encryption and does research on big data study and AI model without leakage of sensitive information by utilizing the supercomputer of KISTI. Meanwhile, KISTI provides the network impossible to eavesdrop through its supercomputer and quantum cryptography-based S&T network. Joint research and mutual utilization of research infrastructure of each other is scheduled as well.

KISTI is going to the project of technology development of the next generation national research network based on quantum cryptography(QKNet), and it is expected to contribute to creating the innovative research outcomes using not only the supercomputer resources but also the network through joint research with the hospital on the remote process of medical information.
