KISTI (Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information) concluded a memorandum of understanding with KNOU(Korea National Open University) on Feb. 14th 2014. It is expected for both parties to expand chances of distance learning utilized by KISTI's supercomputing system. KISTI's EDISON (EDucation-research Integration through Simulation On the Net) Platform and KNOU's cyber lab construction will become key foundation of this MOU.

KISTI and KNOU Prime College plan to cooperate and create quality content for education of science and technology, develop supercomputer-based training SW, and moreover collaborate on simulation SW, distance learning. Both parties agreed to further continue their cooperation in diverse fields including electronics, machinery, physics, aviation and chemistry.

Dr. Park Young Seo, President of KISTI, noted that the MOU with KNOU will be a magnificent opportunity for KISTI to expand practical use of cyber learning platform, EDISON, and supercomputer-based simulation SW.
