KISTI-Elsevier Joint-Project: Big Data Analysis

KISTI is planning to jointly analyze S&T research reports with Elsevier, a renowned global scholar publisher. KISTI and Elsevier signed a Memorandum of Understanding at KISTI Daejeon Headquarters on Nov. 6. KISTI and Elsevier will ▲Develop data-mining, indexing, analyzing technologies, ▲Provide Pay-per-view service of Elsevier’s original texts through NDSL, ▲Cooperate on sharing global level publishing technology.
This Memorandum of Understanding would not only benefit both parties but also benefit researchers and the general public, as Elsevier is going to provide KISTI S&T papers from 2,500 scholarly science journals. KISTI will be constructing a database based on such vast amount of research data, and provide relevant and reliable information to the users.
Elsevier will participate in sharing the scholarly publishing technology and know-how, and it is expected to enhance competitiveness of Korean domestic publishing market. Dr. Hahn Sun-hwa, President of KISTI, noted that this MOU will be a wonderful opportunity to promote data-mining, moreover benefit the researchers in utilizing scholarly reports.
